The "Amfora" diving center from Ohrid organized a major environmental action to clean up Lake Ohrid. From the bottom of the lake, divers removed a huge amount of various solid waste: bottles, cans, plastic, cans and more.

The action entitled "OHRID ECO 2023" was carried out in two locations - at the sources of the Black Dream near Sveti Naum and at the port, on the eastern shore of the lake.

28 divers from the Amfora Diving Center, Vrelo Cave Diving Club from Skopje, as well as members of the diving team of the BSS of the ARM participated in the action, who are involved in all major environmental actions and activities organized by the Amfora Diving Center, the announcement says.

They emphasized that the largest amount of solid waste comes through the rivers that flow into the lake and carry huge amounts of waste.

The head of "Amphora", Jovan Sekuloski, clarified that a few years ago they made a proposal to build mini dams that will greatly reduce the amount of waste that ends up in the lake.
