Dwayne Johnson's mother had a serious car accident in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, which luckily she managed to survive. The actor posted a photo on Instagram of a crushed red Cadillac Escalade with extensive damage to the passenger side.

"Angels of mercy watched over my mother," Johnson wrote.
The car's bodywork was torn off and crushed, exposing parts of the interior and an airbag that appeared to have deployed on the driver's side.
"This woman survived lung cancer, a difficult marriage, a collision with a drunk driver and a suicide attempt. She survived in ways that make angels and miracles real," the actor added, thanking the Los Angeles Police Department and firefighters for helping his mother and telling him over the phone what happened.

"I have one parent left, so if you still have a mom and a dad, give them a hug because you never know when you're going to get that call at three in the morning that we never want to get," Johnson said.
