PHOTO | Kate Middleton and Prince William on "rival" sides: Each cheered on their own rugby team
Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton celebrated the triumphant victory of the English rugby team at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. Kate, who is patron of the Rugby Football Union (RFU), and Prince William, who has been patron of the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) since 2016, cheered on the rugby match together – each supporting the opposing side.

Although the on-field rivalry was long-standing and deep-rooted between the two sports teams, the competition between Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton was more of a friendly one.
And while Kate was seen rejoicing as the English side continued to extend their record-breaking win, seats across the 74.500-capacity stadium began to empty as angry Welsh fans could no longer take the defeat. Prince William looked disappointed wearing his bright red scarf, the same shade as the Welsh rugby team's ribbon.
A pleasure to meet with players supported by the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust ahead of today's match in Cardiff.

Ahead of the match, the Prince and Princess of Wales met with injured players supported by the Welsh Rugby Charity, of which William is patron. They spoke to them in the Sir Tasker Watkins Suite, a space at the Principality Stadium. The glamorous couple looked stunning, both in thick coats in the chilly Cardiff weather (7 degrees Celsius) before taking their seats for the match.
Good to be back in Cardiff today. Thank you for the welcome, @WelshRugbyUnion ???????
