PHOTO | A remarkable discovery: See the Black Hole in the heart of our Galaxy
The huge black hole that lives in the center of our galaxy, known as "Sagittarius A *- Sagittarius A *, the black hole is four million times larger than the mass of our Sun and was photographed for the first time. The photograph taken by the telescope Event Horizon a central dark region is seen where the hole is located, rounded off by light coming from super-heated gas accelerated by enormous gravitational forces.
It is about 60 million kilometers wide. Fortunately, this monster is about 26.000 light-years away from us, so there is no possibility of us being in any danger.
Have you seen the picture of the black hole at the center of our galaxy?
The image of Sagittarius A * (inset) was taken by @EHTelescope. Now see it in context with support from us @ChandraXray, Swift and NuSTAR observatories. Here's what the colors mean: https://t.co/Qkt3Qu3v1r pic.twitter.com/BONW7QZhsu

This is the second such image taken by "Event Horizon", after in 2019 they published a photo of a giant Black Hole in the heart of another Galaxy called Messier 87 (M87). It was 1.000 times larger than our Sun and 6,5 billion times larger.
"This photo is special because it is our supermassive Black Hole," he told BBC Professor Hayno Falke, one of the pioneers behind the Event Horizon project.
