PHOTO: Girl Speaking At Biden Inauguration Enters Vogue History
Amanda Gorman, who attracted attention with her performance at the inauguration of US President Joe Biden, is the first poet to decorate the cover of the May issue of Vogue magazine, and was photographed by the famous Annie Leibovitz, writes CNN.
This 23 years old a Harvard graduate student, on the cover page wears clothes signed by Louis Vuitton, which for the purposes of photography is stylized as a dress, and around the waist there is a wide, richly decorated belt.
The colorful fabric is inspired by African clothing and was designed by Virgil Abloh, Louis Vuitton's first African-American art director.
"The first poetess on the cover of Vogue. "I am infinitely grateful and I do not expect to be the last, because what is poetry, if not beauty?", Gorman wrote in an Instagram post.
Gorman became famous in January, after the touching reading of her song The Hill We Climb at the inauguration of Joe Biden.

After that performance, Gorman signed a contract with the modeling agency "IMG", appeared on front pages and had several public appearances, including that of the panel for International Women's Day, with the former US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi and the supermodel Chrissy Teigen.
In September, the young poet will publish two books - a collection of her poetry "The Hill We Climb and Other Poems" and the children's picture book "Change Sings: A Children's Anthem". Both are already on the list bestsellers on Amazon.
She told a CNN reporter, Anderson Cooper, stated that from the inauguration he has his own mantra, which he repeats before each reading.
