She says that she is still new in photography. She started photographing in order to promote a restaurant in Struga managed by her family. After two years of photography, since last year, she has started to expand her range and create impressions through photography from places she visits. Thus, the young photographer Ana Petroska from Skopje created her Instagram profile and Facebook page - Ana's Photos - justaphoto.ap.

- Since the corona crisis started, we have learned a lot about our sites. "We have learned that Macedonia has many places to visit, beautiful photos and many unexplored places that deserve attention," said Ana.

Which in your opinion are the most impressive, and which are the most picturesque places in Macedonia that should be visited, and seen from a photographic angle?

- Krushevo leaves the best impression on me. From a photographic perspective, you can photograph Krushevo in macro and micro terms. You can create landscapes, take portraits, capture details. In Krushevo you can take photos in the city center because you have uniquely built streets, you can go further and photograph the houses and the unique Krushevo infrastructure. Finally, go for a walk in nature and from there you will take beautiful photos. I think that through photography this Macedonian city of ours is promoted much more, especially in the period after the pandemic started.

But, of course, there is also Struga which offers great summer shots, Ohrid, and many other places that I have not yet explored. Our cities offer a lot from a photographic aspect, and my favorite is of course Krushevo.

Apart from Krushevo and Struga, which cities and villages throughout Macedonia are your favorite for photography and why?

- Struga, Krushevo, Skopje, Ohrid are my focus for now. As I deepen my photographic "fan", I will try to cover most of the country, not leaving out the eastern part of our country. I have already said about Krushevo how I draw my inspiration. Also for Struga, the summer provides a wide field for photography, especially in the settlement Ezerski Lozja and thanks to Lake Ohrid. Our lake and coastline offer rest, relaxation and the opportunity for beautiful photos. I have the same impression of Ohrid, adding that this city offers a lot of history, tradition in tourism and walks, especially in the so-called an old part of town that offers so much soul that I hope I capture through photography. In the end comes my, our Skopje, with details that we do not notice, because every day we walk those streets, and they have something to offer for the lens of any camera. Those places are everyday, but when we analyze them through photography, they are full of life.

What does autumn look like through your lens in Skopje, which parts of the city are the most romantic in terms of photography?

- Autumn is beautiful in Skopje. The yellowish-orange leaves create a "collision" between nature expressed through this time of year and modern times filled with buildings, cars and other material and man-made things. This coexistence of the natural and the human creates an everyday life shown through my photographs. Exactly 10 days ago, one Saturday morning and early afternoon, I had a photo session in the Karposh neighborhood. I decided to walk all the places where there are trees and they are in full autumn. I moved between the buildings, photographing the parks and trying to grab the yellowed leaves, on the one hand, and the cars, the tall buildings, the childish movement of the autumn sun, on the other. The photos are still being processed and I want to post them until winter starts.

What is the most important thing for a good landscape photo?

- You do not need much for a good landscape photography. Our country is full of landscapes that just need to be captured. You need an average camera, camera or phone, a few rules of photography and creativity, and a desire to capture the right moments. If you have the desire at any time you can take a beautiful photo.

How, in your opinion, should the good photos be used in the tourist offer of Macedonia?

- I started the answer to this question earlier. My impression is that the photos on the social networks helped for a better and bigger promotion of Krushevo. Many people, by "scrolling" on Facebook or Instagram, come across photos from Krushevo and the most popular local sites there. Thus, many who have been there for years or not at all, realize that this place is beautiful and worth a visit. It is similar with Struga and Ezerski Lozja. The photos I take, not only me, but also many others, I believe have contributed to much greater visibility of this tourist place. Our photos helped us to show the beauty of Ezerski Lozja and why this settlement near Struga should be visited at least once in the summer.

Therefore, photography, both amateur and of course professional, should be used to the maximum to promote our cities and specific places. Photos on social networks, photos in promotional printed materials, banners, etc., seriously contribute to the promotion. It is, in fact, a "mouth-to-mouth" promotion that is the strongest and most effective promotion.
