Formula 1: Charles Leclerc to pole position in Monte Carlo

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc secured pole position for the race in Formula 1 in Monte Carlo, Monaco, after being fastest in today's qualifying.

The home driver set the fastest lap (1:10.270) and ended reigning champion and Red Bull driver Max Verstappen's record streak of eight consecutive pole positions.

The second place went to the Australian Oscar Piastre from "McLaren", and the third to the Spaniard Carlos Sainz from "Ferrari".

Lando Norris (McLaren) will start fourth, George Russell (Mercedes) fifth, while Verstappen will start from position number six.

The race in Monte Carlo, the eighth season in the F1 championship, will be run on Sunday at 15.00:XNUMX.

Verstappen currently leads the drivers in the general standings with 161 points, ahead of Leclerc who has 113.
