Volkswagen plans to produce 3 million small electric vehicles in Spain

German carmaker Volkswagen plans to produce 3 million small electric vehicles at its two plants in Spain between 2025 and 2030, said Wayne Griffiths, president of SEAT.
The German carmaker is promoting the electrification of its products and plans to build a battery factory in Spain. Griffiths said SEAT intends to produce 500.000 electric cars a year at the SEAT factory in Martorello, near Barcelona.
SEAT's priority is for all workers to keep their jobs, he added.
The CEO said at a press conference that the automaker is working hard to bring a second electric vehicle production platform to Martorell, which will increase competition. Volkswagen previously announced that it will start production of two electric vehicles at the factory in Martorell in 2025, Klix.ba reports.
