Finland will start easing coyote restrictions earlier than planned
Finland will begin to gradually soften them restrictions imposed due to covid-19 already on 1 February instead of in mid-February, as originally planned, in conditions of observed unloading of the hospital system, the Government announced last night.
On January 18, Prime Minister Sana Marin announced that Finland would begin easing measures by the middle of next month, but signs of stabilizing morbidity in the country have prompted the government to change its plans.
"The workload of intensive care units has changed for the better," said Finnish Minister of Social Welfare and Health Hannah Sarkinen.
She clarified that the government has decided to start with caution by easing the restrictions, with the working hours of restaurants being extended to 18 pm instead of 21 pm. It is also recommended that local authorities allow the opening of cultural and sports centers such as gyms, swimming pools and theaters from the beginning of February.
Finland remains among the least affected countries in the world by the pandemic. According to the country's health authorities, 470 cases of covid-665 have been registered in Finland so far, with a population of 19 million and 5,5 deaths.
