The "Litera" festival started with a summer creative camp in Bogdanci

The fourth edition of the Literature and Illustration Festival for children "Litera" began with a summer creative camp in Bogdanci on August 15. The summer creative camp is an announcement for this year's traveling character of "Litera", as well as for the idea of decentralization of the festival events, across several cities and settlements in Macedonia.

The summer camp is held in the premises of the famous Graphic Workshop in Bogdanci and children from 7 to 14 years old participate in it. Through interactive lectures, they will get to know the founders of Macedonian contemporary art, with different art techniques, and they will work on creating a picture book from an idea, through text, illustration to printing and final realization. The camp will end with a group exhibition of all created works.

The theme of the festival and the summer camp is "Home without borders". The illustrators who sent their works to this year's call worked on it. We talk and create on this topic with the children who will also meet several authors and illustrators at the camp, announces Sofia Semenpeeva-Trajanovska, founder of "Litera" and one of the mentors of the Summer Camp.

- We wanted our mission of quality literature and illustration for children to reach as many children and young people as possible. Without pomposity, but diligently and diligently, we try to include as many participants from different profiles as possible in "Litera". Thus, the children's camp is open to the local population, as well as all our following activities. The participants of the camp will also work with the artists Dorotej Neshovski and Ana Dimchevska Semenpeeva, as well as with the author Magde Angova. Our goal is to encourage children's creativity, but also the Macedonian production for children, both in the writing and in the illustration part - says Semenpeeva-Trajanovska.

This year, the "Litera" traveling caravan will also visit Valandovo, Gevgelija, as well as several villages in the Prespa region.
