"Our policy does not allow claims that Covid-19 vaccines kill or harm humans," said a spokesman for the company.

Facebook and YouTube have removed a video of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro claiming that Covid-19 vaccines are linked to the development of AIDS.

Both companies said the video, recorded on Thursday, violated their policy.

"We have removed the video from Jair Bolsonaro's channel for violating our medical disinformation policy regarding Covid-19 because it states that vaccines do not reduce the risk of contracting the disease and causing other infectious diseases," a YouTube statement said.

Although he said last January that he would not receive any vaccine against Covid-19, Bolsonaro promised to vaccinate all Brazilians quickly.
