The FBI raided the home of former UN weapons inspector Ritter

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has searched the New York home of former United Nations weapons inspector Scott Ritter as part of a federal investigation, officials said.

An FBI spokeswoman said agents conducted the raid as part of a federal investigation, declining to provide details because the investigation is ongoing.

Ritter, who is a convicted sex offender, told reporters outside his home after the raid that the warrant focused on potential violations of the Foreign Agent Registration Act.
