Director Bojan Hristovski remains at the head of the National Security Agency, although the Faculty of Security chose him as an assistant in the scientific field of Forensic Sciences in an online session and rejected the objection of one of the other candidates for this position. He said in a statement to "Sloboden Pechat" that he remains in the position of director and that if the procedure requires, he will give up the title of assistant.

– The decision of the Teaching and Research Council to select an assistant at the Faculty of Security has been definitely confirmed, for which I am sincerely grateful to all the professors who gave their support. I must also point out that the application after a public announcement was released by me more than a month ago, before my appointment as director. I don't know what the procedure and legal possibilities are in these circumstances, but of course my priority is the performance of this important function that I am performing at the moment - says Hristovski for "Sloboden Pechat".

From the Faculty of Securityè they are still considering the legal possibilities whether Hristovski should officially submit a notice that he is resigning from his position at the Faculty. The dean of the Faculty of Security, Jonche Ivanovski, is determined that if he, as he said publicly, remains in the director's position, their consent they received from the Ministry of Finance will expire and after the New Year they should seek a new consent from there for hiring an assistant.

Since the deadline for choosing an assistant is until the New Year, they do not have time to announce a new competition.

According to the legal procedures, if Hristovski wanted to be an assistant at the Faculty of Security, he should have given up his directorship at ANB, resigned from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where his position is on hold, and established a new employment relationship with the Faculty of Security safety.

The government appointed Hristovski as director of ANB on October 16, and since then the reactions about his appointment and whether he meets the conditions to lead the Agency have not stopped. The most controversial was his TOEFL English certificate issued by the language center "Julia" from Plovdiv, Bulgaria, which was publicly revealed to be non-existent and not being taken. Two female directors have already been sentenced to suspended sentences for the same forged certificate.

The DCSC is acting on seven reports submitted to them about Hristovski, while a case about him is also being conducted in the Prosecutor's Office.
