"There is no spare planet" is the slogan of the new "EU with YOU" campaign focused on the European Green Agreement, promoted by the Head of the European Union Delegation to the country David Gere and Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Nikola Dimitrov.

The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of the European Green Agreement and its key goal - to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, making Europe the first climate-neutral continent.

Macedonia is committed to working towards this goal for 2050 together with the European Union through the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans, approved by the leaders of the Western Balkan countries at the Summit of the Berlin Process in Sofia in 2020. The campaign calls for strong political commitment and urgent action at all levels as time goes on.

- From next year, the European Union will reward one municipality that will show the greatest progress in terms of implementing the provisions of the European Green Agreement. Climate change can not be tackled through small initiatives, but comprehensive engagement at the national and local levels, Gere said.

He reminded that the EU is the largest donor and financier of projects in the municipalities for the implementation of projects to reduce climate change, and stressed that they also help the implementation of central heating.

Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov said that "neither the EU nor we will deal with this issue if we do not meet European standards."

- The enlargement process is a process of completing Europe. Neither the EU nor we will deal with this issue if we do not meet European standards. The EU is our biggest donor and supporter. Let's make Europe the first climate neutral continent. We will achieve this through effective practice of the green agenda, from which new green jobs will emerge. "We are the last generation to do something about climate change," Dimitrov said.

He added that nmost of the commission's report addresses the green agenda and sustainable connectivity, eecarbonization, circular economy, sustainable agriculture and food.
