EU summit dedicated to Ukraine
The President of the Council of the European Union, Charles Michel sent a letter to the leaders of the EU member states, in which he invited them to the Summit scheduled for today and tomorrow in Brussels.
Michel informs the EU leaders in a letter that the main topic of conversation today will be Ukraine.
The summit will begin with a working lunch with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to discuss key geopolitical issues and global challenges, after which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will join the leaders via video conference.
Michel stressed that the EU will, as always, reaffirm its "unwavering commitment to help Ukraine", which includes continuing work on using frozen Russian funds.
- Most importantly, since our last meeting in February, we have been working on an immediate increase in the production and delivery of ammunition to Ukraine. Our goal is to provide Ukraine with one million rounds of ammunition in the next 12 months and to provide adequate funding. For this purpose, we will have to take measures to strengthen the production capacity of the European defense industry, Michel pointed out.
