The European Commission is once again giving away train tickets to young people. Anyone born between 1 July 2005 and 30 July 2005 and June 2006 can apply for one of 35.500 DiscoveryEU tickets.

With them, young people will travel for free in Europe for up to 30 days. If you want one of the tickets, you have to answer a quiz about the European Union. Young people from the European Union, as well as from Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia and Turkey, have the right to participate. A different number of tickets are available for individual countries, and 374 tickets have been set aside for Croatia, HAC writes, Poslovni dnevnik reports.

The lucky ones who will receive the ticket can use it from July 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025 to travel up to 30 days in Europe. Along with the ticket, participants also receive discounts, for example for public transport or in culture. People with disabilities have support during their travels. The program exists since 2018. Since then, more than a million applicants have applied for the 284.000 available tickets. About 72 percent of them said that it was the first time they traveled by train outside their country of residence.
