Energy crisis: Germans learn to cook without electricity, our winning combination is a wood stove

With respect to pollution, which has a wood stove should not be afraid of the long winter and possible restrictions, say citizens, who asked "Free Press", how they see the potential rise in electricity and gas prices and whether they are afraid of possible reductions? In recent years, due to the campaign for cleaner air, several thousand Macedonian families have been given the opportunity to replace their old stoves with inverters, but now some of them are wondering if this did not happen too soon? Modern times have brought modern flat stove stoves, so in case of power outage, the only salvation is the gas stove.

- We gave the old wood stove, with which we heated and cooked. Now we have an inverter, it is cleaner and more environmentally friendly, but what will happen if the price of electricity rises dramatically or there are reductions? What will we heat ourselves with - asks a resident of the Skopje settlement Lisice.

Although there are no announcements of restrictions so far and the energy authorities claim that there will be enough electricity for households from domestic facilities, traders testify that the demand for candles has slightly increased. For now, there are enough "wax lamps" in the trade and their price ranges from 12 to 17 denars per piece or just over 300 denars per box.

The candles, on the other hand, became part of the campaign of the authorities of North Rhine-Westphalia, which should prepare the citizens for the possible lack of electricity, announced the portal Alo.rs. Instructors are hired to prepare the residents of Bonn, how to light candles and how to cook without electricity! A short video has even been prepared which hints at what the training will look like. This is not a coincidence, as Germany relies heavily on natural gas, and although wind energy has been Germany's largest producer of electricity in recent years, its share fell in the first half of the year due to a lack of wind in wind farms.

Renowned Bloomberg states that due to the energy crisis in Europe, coal is now on the price again, although it was planned to eliminate it as an energy source by 2030.

- Europe has a huge shortage of natural gas, so the continent, which is a pioneer in the fight against CO2 emissions, is turning to coal again to meet the demand for electricity, which has now returned to pre-pandemic levels. - The use of coal on the old continent, this year has grown from 10 to 15 percent - writes Bloomberg.

Croatian households will install solar panels and sell electricity

The new Law on the Electricity Market, passed by the Croatian Parliament in September, allows, among other things, the installation of solar power plants on the roofs of multi-apartment buildings, allowing citizens to generate electricity for their own needs and deliver surpluses to the electricity grid.

The first joint solar power plant was built in Slovenia two years ago in Jesenice, and is located on the roof of a 23-apartment building. According to Croatian media, the value of this investment was 36,4 thousand euros, and the expected return is 7 years, with an annual savings of 4,5 thousand euros.
