Ivermectin should not be used to treat covid-19 outside of clinical trials, European Medicines Agency (EMA) has said.. According to the Guardian, ivermectin has been shown to be a miracle drug for months.

EMA explained that it had reviewed the latest evidence for the use of ivermectin as a prevention and treatment of covid-19 and concluded that additional data did not support its use against coronavirus outside of clinical trials.

The Amsterdam-based agency said it had not received any documents approving the use of the drug, which has long been used to treat some parasites, including lice..

According to the EMA, further research is needed to determine its effectiveness against the coronavirus. Laboratory tests have shown that the drug can block the replication of the virus that causes covid-19, but with a much higher concentration of ivermectin. The toxic effects of those higher doses cannot be ruled out, the EMA added.
