Teachers will no longer have a double job, they will have to enter the same data and grades for students in a printed diary and in an electronic diary, said the Bureau for Development of Education.

There will no longer be printed diaries in primary and secondary education from the new school year, said the Bureau for Development of Education. Instead of a diary, information about students will be recorded only electronically.

- Teachers will no longer have a double job, ie they will not have to enter the same data and grades for students in a printed diary and in an electronic diary - said the Bureau.

The new rules apply to primary and secondary education. The bureau clarified that teachers already know how to fill in an electronic diary and that it has been part of the education system for years. The electronic records will be kept by about 25.000 teachers and professors in the country. As well as in the printed, in the electronic diaries, except for the grades, information about the absences and activities of the students will be entered.

The changes are at the request of teachers, who want to be relieved of the obligation to keep double records in the educational process, but also emphasize that there is often no internet in schools.

The process of digitalization of education is one of the priorities of the Government, which aims to modernize and integrate the national education system in the European educational space.

The Ministry of Education and Science is ready to start the new school year in a pandemic.

- We believe that the most important, ie the best scenario is the teaching with physical presence with all students, in accordance with the schedules for the beginning of teaching. If there is a drastic change in the epidemiological picture, then we should change the scenario with hybrid teaching - one week in school, one online. The third least desired scenario is to spend most of the teaching online. I expect that if everyone respects the protocols for teaching with physical presence, we will be able to realize the next school year in that way. To date, more than 58% of teachers and associates in schools have already been vaccinated - said Minister of Education and Science Mila Carovska.
