Explosion on a ship in Istanbul, there are injured and missing
At least four people were injured in the explosion of a ship in Istanbul.
According to the Turkish media, the explosion happened on a ship in the Turkish shipyard Tuzla. According to the first information, the explosion was caused by gas, reports Hurriet.
"At 10:54 a.m., a report was received that workers working on the Liberian-flagged vessel Gulf Petrolyum4, which was undergoing maintenance at the shipyard in Aydintepe District, had been exposed to gas poisoning. Emergency health, safety and firefighting teams were sent to the scene and necessary intervention work was carried out. According to the first information received, 5 workers who were exposed to gas poisoning due to a carbon dioxide leak in one of the pipes that need to be serviced were transported to nearby hospitals by our 112 Emergency Medical Services teams. An investigation has been launched into the problem," said a statement issued by the Istanbul Governor's Office.
