The regular political barometer of the "Brima" agency for the political views of the population in the Republic of Northern Macedonia in the run-up to the local elections in the country is a field survey, conducted in the period from August 27 to September 9 this year on a nationally representative sample (the survey was conducted by face-to-face method, at the respondent's home), observing all demographic characteristics of the population aged 18+ in the country, which includes 1.201 respondents. The results have an error margin of +/- 2,8%.

As far as ranking the main problems that the respondents are preoccupied with, from the obtained survey data, the tendency of the citizens to treat the social and economic topics in the first places is obvious. Thus, cumulatively speaking, according to the ranking of the selection of the several most important problems from over 50 listed opportunities, currently 31,5% of the respondents spontaneously point out unemployment; The pandemic situation is the second most important with 26% of the cumulative responses, followed by the economic situation (23,8%) and poverty and low standard of living (22%).

With a significant lag in the ranking, follow the problems in the field of low quality of public services, the prevalence of corruption and crime and the future of young people.

In the poll, the long line of political issues (such as the general political situation and the "preservation of the Macedonian state" or the possibility of a refugee crisis, the problem with Bulgaria, interethnic relations, protests and counter-protests, etc.) are far out of focus. of the respondents. Unfortunately, the topics that are not ranked are the problems with the state of the environment and ecology.
