Eco-action: The students from the Center "hunt" for electronic waste
Municipality of Centar and "Zero waste" with several activities under the motto "Convey the message, we are going to hunt for electronic waste" will raise awareness among the youngest about the correct selection of e-waste and environmental protection. For this purpose, containers for small electronic waste and waste batteries have been set up in all municipal primary schools, and until October 14, workshops intended for educating children on collecting and selecting this type of waste are planned.
The mayor of Centar Municipality, Goran Gerasimovski, also attended the workshops at the "Kiro Gligorov" school intended for second graders.
From a young age, children acquire habits for proper handling of electronic and other types of waste. They quickly learn how to collect and select, and in this regard they are more conscientious and responsible than adults. I, as mayor, give full support to such actions that contribute to the protection of our health and the environment - said Gerasimovski.
The Municipality informs that the service for selection and recycling of this type of waste is also available to citizens. On the eco-line 070 236 000, they can also report bulky old electrical or electronic waste from their homes and companies every day, which will be taken free of charge and properly treated without being a threat to human health and the quality of the environment.
