Egypt considers the attack on a school in Gaza to be "clear proof" that Israel has no will to end the conflict
Egypt strongly condemned the Israeli attack carried out today on a shelter in a school in the city of Gaza, in which at least 100 people died, DPA reported.
Cairo's foreign ministry said the attack showed "unprecedented disregard for international law". It said the attack was a "continuation of large-scale atrocities" in which "huge numbers of unarmed civilians" were killed.
The ministry noted that the attack comes at a time when mediators are trying to reach a ceasefire in Gaza, adding that this is "clear proof" that there is no will on the Israeli side to end the war in the Gaza Strip.
Egypt has been involved in months-long efforts alongside the United States and Qatar to broker a ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian extremist group Hamas to end the war in Gaza.
At least 100 people were killed in an airstrike carried out by Israeli forces on a school in Gaza City today, according to medical and security sources. The building, which was used as a shelter for displaced persons, was hit during morning prayers, the Hamas media office said.
