Simple and fast meal - French toast
If you have excess white bread at home - do not throw it away, recycle it into something tasty, simple and sweet. This type of fried bread is a daily morning meal in French cuisine, but is accepted as an international breakfast and is served in many places around the world.
You will not need more than 10 minutes for this recipe, and you will have a sweet meal that will fill you up.
- 4 slices of white bread
- 2 eggs
- 150 ml of milk
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- half a teaspoon of cinnamon
- butter for frying
In a deep bowl, whisk the eggs with the milk, add the sugar and cinnamon. Dip each loaf in the mixture and fry in a pan of butter over medium heat. After frying, sprinkle with honey, powdered sugar or maple syrup - to your liking. Serve with fresh fruit or whipped cream.
