If you know someone with Alzheimer's disease, you are not alone, and the World Health Organization in 2012 declared Alzheimer's disease (AB) a global public health priority and ordered all its members to act. primarily to develop action plans or national strategies to combat Alzheimer's disease. According to the WHO, 47,5 million people worldwide have some form of dementia, and it is estimated that by 2050 the number could increase to more than 115 million people worldwide.

Although doctors are still trying to understand the disease and better understand the potential cure for the disease, research has shown that adequate levels of omega-3 fatty acids can reduce the risk of developing the disease by up to 49 percent. DHA or docosahexaenoic acid is actually omega-3 fatty acids, which is known to have the potential to prevent various diseases such as rheumatism, heart disease, some forms of cancer and depression.

It now appears to be a good prevention for Alzheimer's disease, according to a recent study that looked at the link between red blood cells and DHA and Alzheimer's disease.

While the study participants were about 65 years old and did not have dementia, the researchers found that those with high levels of DHA were about 49 percent less likely to develop Alzheimer's disease.
It is interesting that a similar study was conducted 15 years ago, and the results then showed that it is a 47 percent lower chance of developing the disease if you have higher levels of DHA, said Dr. William Harris, study leader.

Here's how omega-3 DHA affects the lower risk of developing Alzheimer's disease Dr. Jeff Glad, specialist in integrative medicine.

"Omega-3 fatty acids are very important for the prevention and mitigation of inflammatory processes. DHA will reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease by reducing neuroinflammation, but also reducing the deposition of amyloid-beta plaque in the brain, which are the two main factors that are responsible for Alzheimer's disease. He adds that people who consume sufficient amounts of this supplement can also reduce the risk of developing this disease in the family. Hunger adds that you can reduce the risk if you eat foods rich in omega-3 acids such as salmon, sardines… You can also use quality fish oil.

Numerous studies have confirmed that daily consumption of fruits and vegetables is great for the prevention of Alzheimer's disease, including the recommendation of blueberries that contain active substances, including anthocyanins, which improve memory and reduce the level of free radicals in the body. Folic acid also has a preventive effect, and its best source is green leafy vegetables such as kale, cabbage and spinach. Yeast and internal organs are also good sources of folic acid. Studies have shown that people who eat oily fish (salmon, tuna or sardines) at least three times a week have a lower risk of developing Alzheimer's disease. The Mediterranean type of diet is recommended, which is based on the intake of large amounts of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fish, turkey, chicken and some red meat. You should also avoid alcohol and smoking, and engage in daily physical activity for at least 30 minutes a day. Mental activity can be stimulated by reading, problem solving, crossword puzzles and by better and more diverse social activity or socializing.
