The actor Tyrese Gibson, known for his role in the "Fast and Furious" film franchise, was arrested in May for failing to pay child support to ex-wife Samantha Lee, reports "TMZ".

Tyrese appeared in Fulton County Superior Court before Judge Kevin Farmer for his child support battle with his ex, with whom he has a daughter, Soraya.

Last year, Gibson was ordered to pay $10.690 a month in child support, which he refused. As a result, the judge found him guilty of contempt of court and said Gibson would not go to jail if he paid $73.000 in 48 hours, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

He also ordered him to pay $7.500 in Samantha's legal fees. According to TMZ, Tyrese only paid $2.200 a month in child support.

TMZ later reported that the actor was released from custody after his attorney Tanya Mitchell Graham appealed the judge's decision. He reportedly did not have to pay $73.000 before being released. It does not mean that the actor will not have to pay that amount later.

The actor previously talked to fans about alimony and said they could arrest him. In addition, he accused Judge Farmer and his ex's legal team of colluding against him.

"Samantha's attorneys, Adam Glecklen and William Alexander, are best friends with Judge Kevin M. Farmer. It's pretty clear they hate me, but I have to remind them all about my life and success. I've worked hard since I was 14 to get here," he said then in a post he has since deleted from Instagram.

By the way, Tyrese and Samantha got married in 2017, and a year later they had a daughter. They announced their divorce in 2020.
