The American actor Jeff Bridges announced the news that he had been diagnosed with lymphoma in 2020. He received the bad news during the break from filming the television series "The Old Man", and to make the situation more complicated, the actor also contracted the coronavirus while undergoing chemotherapy.

"I got cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy, and on top of that, I caught the coronavirus. Chemotherapy destroyed my immunity, so when I got the corovirus, I had nothing to fight. I was sick for almost two years and everything seemed like a dream to me," he recalled.

Bridges says that, despite the difficult months he spent in the hospital, he had to make the best of the situation.

"It's not all that bad. The disease also had wonderful aspects, completely unexpected, such as all that love from family, friends and all the people around the world. It was a wonderful, unexpected feeling. I said to myself, 'Oh, yes, this is life, this is wonderful,' and everything became somehow very precious," says the actor.

The actor shared encouraging news about his cancer in January 2021, informing fans that his tumor had "shrinked dramatically."

"We stopped filming (of the series 'The Old Man') due to the pandemic and took a break for a few months during which my health adventure began. And then, two years later, I went back to work and it was the most bizarre feeling – like we had a long weekend and I couldn't wait to tell my friends about my dream: I was sick, I was in the hospital. You know, everything was like a dream," says Bridges.

The Oscar winner says he feels great now and is happy to promote his series.
