Italian police have arrested two young Albanians, originally from Kosovo, on suspicion of plotting a terrorist attack in Italy, Top Channel reported, citing the Italian news agency ANSA.

"On June 15, the Italian Special Carabinieri Unit (ROS) investigating terrorism and organized crime, with the support of the Trento Regional Command, issued a restraining order against two young men, a boy and a girl of Albanian descent, after they had been trained to commit violence. actions. "Namely, they planned to carry out an attack with an explosive device in Trentino on behalf of the terrorist organization Islamic State (IS)," Top Channel states.

The detainees are in their twenties and are being investigated on charges of "conspiracy to commit terrorism, undermining the democratic order, registration and training for terrorist purposes, including international ones."

An Italian court has placed the boy under house arrest, with the obligation to wear the electronic bracelet, which monitors the location while the girl is defending her freedom.

The decision to implement the measure of house arrest, explains that this decision is determined by the need to guarantee the path of deradicalization of the suspect, whose families are fully integrated into the Italian social structure, will play an essential role.

"Investigations have shown that the two men, born in Italy, to families of Kosovo origin, long integrated in the social, work and study context, have embarked on a path of radicalization facilitated by jihadist propaganda on the Internet. "After the attack, the two were to travel to Africa to join the terrorist organization."

During the operation, several controls were carried out which enabled the seizure of computer equipment and chemical products that would be used for the production of explosive devices.

The planned attack would take place "of course in Trentino, but we can not say more," explained the chief prosecutor Sandro Raimondi.

"Since the outbreak of the armed conflict in 2011, more than 350 Kosovo citizens have traveled to Syria and Iraq. In the group of Kosovars who traveled to Syria, besides men, there were also women and children. So far, more than 250 have returned from Syria to Kosovo. "Kosovo has become one of the first countries in the world to systematically repatriate its citizens from Syrian camps."
