Tonight, DUI declared victory in Debar in the second round of the local elections, which was held in this municipality with a postponement.

It is celebrated in and in front of the election headquarters of the DUI branch, with car sirens, fireworks and trumpets and drums.

The head of the Election Headquarters Artin Spahiu addressed the gathered, saying that they are a party that cares for all, whose goals are NATO and the EU, and in Macedonian he thanked for the "unreserved support of SDSM".

The Minister of Economy Kreshnik Bekteshi also addressed briefly, saying that Debar and Debrani always knew how to choose what was best for them and promised continued support from the central government.

- My dear and respected fellow citizens, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the support you have given me to be the head of the municipality in the next four years. I believe in God and in you and together we will make the municipality a better place, as Debar deserves. As before and in the future I will be the mayor of all, regardless of national, religious, party or any affiliation. "Now I call on you to celebrate, with dignity without any provocations in Skanderbeg Square, and from tomorrow to roll up your sleeves and you will work to fulfill the promise," Duka said in what he called more than an emotional address.

He was mayor for the past two and a half years, when the defenders gave him confidence in the early local elections on April 21, 2019, which were conducted after the death of Ruzdi Ljata, who died in November 2018 after a short and severe illness.

Duka is a specialist urologist by profession, employed in the general hospital with extended activity in Debar, he is married and the father of three children.

He defeated Bekim Pocesta of the Alternative / Alliance for Albanians coalition.

The second round of voting took place in Debar today, because even after the repeated voting, none of the candidates provided the required percentage of the total number of citizens who turned out.
