At today's session, the Senate of the State University of Tetovo made a decision to cancel the current announcement for the election of a rector for the mandate period 2023-2026, published on May 18, 2023, and to announce a new announcement.

As the reason for the decision, DUT cites the desire to carry out the election of the rector without pressure from the public."

The announcement states that the procedure for electing the rector will be carried out by the University Election Commission, which was established by the Senate of the University. Although the Senate has the right to autonomy in decisions on the selection of a rector, the announcement points out that the criteria that will be included in the new announcement will only be those listed verbatim in the Law on Higher Education.

With this decision, the DUT Senate "attempts to guarantee institutional integrity and carry out the election of the rector without influence from third parties," the university said.
