After a long illness, the actor died yesterday, March 20, 2023, at his home in Los Angeles (USA) Dimce Meshkovski.

With an announcement to the public, the colleagues from the Drama Theater in Skopje said goodbye to the doyen of Macedonian acting.

"Dimce Meshkovski was employed at the Skopje Drama Theater from 1967 until his retirement in 2002. Meshkovski's creative biography includes over 100 roles with over 6.000 performances. Meshkovski's wide range and talent positioned him as an actor who made an immeasurable contribution playing multiple theater genres. From the dramatic opus, we single out the roles in the plays: "Danton's Death", "The Balcony", "The Cherry Orchard", "Jane Zadrogaz", "Chernodrinsky Returns Home", "Zoykin's Apartment", "Caligula", "The Auditor", " Wild meat"…).

The penchant for comedy brought him great popularity through the interpretation of the characters in the plays: "Suspicious Face", "Thessalonica Patrdii", "Weekend of the Dead", "Flea in the Ear", "Marathonists Run the Lap of Honor". For the role of Tase in "Weekend of the Dead", Dimce Meshkovski received the "Acting Achievement Award" at the "Vojdan Chernodrinski" MTF in Prilep. He is also the winner of the "Lifetime Achievement Award" given by this renowned theater festival of ours.

The involvement of several hundred roles in radio dramas, entertaining and humorous shows including "Hihiriku" by Ivan Karadak, as well as television series and shows for children: "Let's see, let's see what to be", "The Thirteenth Key", "Semaphore", "Fairy Tales", "Clown School", "Big and Small", "Our Years", "Path to the Future", "Ilinden", "Smilev Congress", "Prlichev". Meshkovski also recorded a large number of folk tales from this popular television format.

Dimce Meshkovski has made a huge contribution to the development of the Macedonian art of synchronisation. He became a favorite of the children's audience as a unique interpreter of children's heroes Popeye, Smurfs, Ninja Turtles and many others.

The commemoration for the respected actor Dimce Meshkovski will be held in the hall of the Skopje Drama Theater on March 28, 2023, starting at 12 noon.
