Drama in Katowice with 10 match balls, Slovenia will play for the European title
Slovenia's volleyball team is the first finalist in the European Championship after beating host Poland 3-1.
In a heated atmosphere in Katowice, the Slovenian volleyball players came to the triumph, the first set was won by the Poles with a convincing 25:17. But that did not stop the coach's team from rising and making a complete turnaround in the match.
They were better in the second set with 32:30, then in the third in each segment they beat the rival leading 2: 1 (25:16), and in the fourth in which they had the most points and even 10 match balls for the Slovenians, they were better again on two differences with 37:35 for setting the final epilogue.
Stern was the most efficient in the triumph with 20 points, and Leon had the same effect in the defeated team.
For Slovenia this is the second final in a row, two years ago they lost to Serbia, and played once again for gold in 2015 when they were defeated by France. Poland, on the other hand, will play for its fourth bronze, having previously placed third at the 1967, 2011 and 2019 European Championships.
