Drama on the Adriatic: A ship loaded with explosives sails near Lastovo
The Portuguese ship "Katrin", which is allegedly transporting explosives intended for Israel, Slovenia and Montenegro must be prevented from anchoring in their ports, Amnesty International points out, reports Telegraf.rs.
Allegedly, there are explosives destined for Israel on board, according to information from the Namibian government and the Portuguese Foreign Minister, reports 24 hours a.d.
Namibian authorities denied entry to the ship in August for eight containers of RDX Hexogen explosives destined for Israel. According to information from the offices of the Prime Minister of Slovenia and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Portugal, the ship headed to Montenegro and the Slovenian port of Koper, where it will unload its cargo. It is not known how the cargo will reach Israel.
"Katrin" is currently located in the Adriatic Sea, along the border of Croatian territorial waters, not far from Lastovo, the Marine Traffic portal reports. The portal RTCG reported that the ship could not enter the port of Bar, and Morski.hr. states that the "Katrin" is sailing near Lastovo, as it is assumed that it is seeking permission from the Croatian authorities to pass or enter Croatian territorial waters.
