The Acting Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Galab Donev, will come to the Republic of North Macedonia on Saturday, at the invitation of his host, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski, to participate in the ceremony marking the beginning of the construction of the eastern part of the railway Corridor VIII, Kumanovo section - Belyakovce - Kriva Palanka, the press center of the Bulgarian government announced.

The event will be held on Saturday, at 12 o'clock, near Kumanovo, and the Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Minister of Transport and Communications Hristo Alexiev will also attend.

Pan-European Corridor VIII, as the MIA correspondent reminds, connects Bulgaria with North Macedonia, Albania and by sea with Italy. It is a key route in terms of strengthening the region's connectivity, creating an intermodal link between the Black and Adriatic Seas. The corridor can create great added value for the development of the entire Balkan region. Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Albania are making joint efforts to complete it by building the main projects for railway transport infrastructure in their territories. Bulgaria is actively working to include Corridor VIII in the priority European transport network in the direction of Sofia - Skopje - Durres - Tirana and for it to be designated as part of the European corridor "Western Balkans"
