The DOM party announced today that the proposal to change the state coat of arms is unacceptable to it.

"The party calls on the government not to distract the public from the need to fight corruption, air pollution, skyrocketing prices in markets and electricity, all for the sake of increasing its own ratings ahead of the upcoming local elections," DOM ​​announced.

It previously became clear that there is currently no consensus on this topic among the coalition partners in the Government, after ZNAM stated that it sees no need to change the state coat of arms.

Party leader Maksim Dimitrievski says the coat of arms reflects Macedonian history and reality.

"I personally believe that this coat of arms that the state currently has satisfies all the needs of both historical continuity and geographical continuity and characterizes the reality of the Macedonian people and state. We at ZNAM believe that we should not allow the state symbols to have additional imposition of politics and partisanship," said Maksim Dimitrievski.
