The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, announced today that RS will declare independence, if the high international representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt, imposes the property law.

"We will go to the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska and make a decision on the independence of the Republika Srpska," said Dodik in Prnjavor.

The statement is in response to a journalist's question to comment on the information that Schmidt is preparing a law on property and how Republika Srpska will react in case such a law is imposed.

Dodik previously stated that he believes that the issue of property has been resolved by the Dayton Agreement and that real estate belongs to the subjects, not to the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and rejected the possibility that the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina would pass a law on state property.
