Yesterday, they publicly admitted that they changed their approach and strategy towards Bulgaria, which firstly demolishes the hysterical attacks on me and the claims that we had no differences inside, and secondly exposes the attempt for a cheap spin that Sofia gave up (a spin that some recognized well our media), reacts former Foreign Minister and former Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Nikola Dimitrov on Facebook after the visit of the Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov to Skopje.

"While I was inside, I held the other approach - nothing has been agreed until all issues have been agreed - as my successor said publicly yesterday. The second day without me, the approach and the essence changed into a "salami" tactic. They say that now with the new approach we have results immediately - Sofia "accepted" to use the short name, something that in itself is not our problem, but their and their request. In order for this unfounded request to be accepted, we sent a note to the UN that Sofia had been asking for for two years and had not received, without making any concessions. Now these were the results with the new approach…

Understandably, no one has ever argued that such an approach would work - BUT in favor of the other side. If this new approach is being developed and culminated, no one is arguing and that a solution is possible, you guessed what. "More about the substantial damage with the note to the UN, where the attributes of the state are closed, in the next public appearance." wrote Dimitrov.

After the visit of the Bulgarian Prime Minister to Skopje, it was agreed that Bulgaria would use the short name Northern Macedonia and the long Republic of Northern Macedonia, for which the United Nations was informed. This removes all doubts of Bulgaria that the short name Northern Macedonia encroaches on its territorial integrity. Macedonian Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski announced that the Agreement on Cross-Border Cooperation from 2022 to 2029 will be finalized, which will open the Klepalo border crossing, and on Monday, January 25, a joint session of the two governments will be held to agree on other specific steps to enhance cooperation in various fields and sectors.

According to the agreement, five working groups are being formed, together with the one on historical issues, which will agree on cooperation in economy, trade, innovation, infrastructure, transport and connectivity, green policies, European integration, culture, education and science, working groups from which joint projects are expected to emerge which, translated into an action plan, should yield concrete results.

According to Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Bojan Maricic, Pekov's visit to Skopje in both countries is assessed as positive.

- Until this visit, we did not have a lower level of relations with Bulgaria, hence we can only go up. My impression is that Prime Minister Petkov is honest in his intentions, that there is good will, he is aware of the challenges, but he also wants to achieve concrete results, and not to dwell only on the old topics, said Maricic for Morning briefing.
