Spasov was sentenced to 14 years in prison for the murder of Martin Neskoski that took place in the square in Skopje during the celebration of the victory of VMRO-DPMNE in the parliamentary elections in 2011.
The Ministry of Interior issued an international arrest warrant for Spasov at the end of October 2019 after he did not return to prison after completing his treatment.
Igor Spasov was wanted by an order issued by the Basic Court Stip for committed criminal acts under Article 123 and Article 386 of the Criminal Code of RSM for serving a prison sentence of seven years and three months, according to the website of the Ministry of Interior.
