Snow and low temperatures completely covered the streets and sidewalks in Tetovo with ice, after which only in the Tetovo Clinical Hospital, more than fifty patients sought help for fractures, announced TV21.

- In five days, the Department of Orthopedics at the Tetovo Hospital admitted more than 50 patients with fractures, three of whom underwent surgery, and the rest were released for home treatment. This number also includes the persons who received injuries at the ski center Popova Sapka. Most of the bodily injuries caused by slipping are registered in children and the elderly, and the most common are injuries to the limbs, say the orthopedic department in Tetovo.

The doctors appeal to the citizens not to go out unnecessarily and to wear appropriate shoes and clothes. This weekend, the mayor Bilal Kasami stated that "security and free movement of citizens" is the duty of the local government, when together with the employees of the Public Utility Company cleaned the sidewalks of snow and ice.

- Having in mind the requests of the citizens submitted to the company, but also to the municipality that there is ice on the sidewalks and danger of injuries, today we went out on the field to monitor how the employees in the company clean the ice. "On this occasion, I would like to thank all the employees of the company who cleaned the sidewalks so that the citizens can move freely through the streets of the city," Kasami said.
