Today is International Cat Day, which has been celebrated since 2002 and was created to raise awareness about cats and ways to help and protect them. says "Index".

Cats have always been around us and have been worshiped since ancient Egypt. You may not have known, but at the end of the 19th century, an Egyptian farmer discovered a tomb with thousands of mummified cat bodies. As many as 80 thousand cats and kittens were found, buried 2000 years before Christ.

Cats make great pets for many reasons, and we list a few of them below.

They do not require too much activity

Cats are known for sleeping a lot, but they still need some activity. Although they know how to have fun, sometimes they like to play with their owner. In general, cats do not need a walk, but there are owners who are willing to teach them this activity.

They are quiet

Does it annoy you when your dog wakes up the whole house by barking? You won't have that problem with cats. Even the loud ones never meow loud enough to make a scene. When you have visitors, they usually retreat and hide instead of jumping all over the place.

They can spend their lives indoors

Although it is better for the cat to have the opportunity to stay outdoors, if they want, those who live in such conditions can spend their entire lives inside the house or apartment.

Cats are real hunters

Cats are natural predators. Insects, bees and spiders don't stand a chance against cats. Cats practically exterminate pests from your house. You won't have problems with rats if you live with a cat. Hunting for a cat is a game.

Cats are fun and intuitive

Cats are fun. Proof of that is numerous videos on social networks that animal lovers watch to relax and laugh. Cats are definitely bigger stars than half the people on the internet. Cats can sense when you are upset and often try to comfort you. They are very emotional animals who love to lie on your lap and cuddle. Research has proven that petting a cat has a positive effect on humans.
