Demerdziev: There are Bulgarian citizens stopped, but about 150 will arrive in Skopje
Around one hundred to 150 Bulgarian citizens are expected to arrive in Skopje to celebrate the birth of Gotse Delchev, said Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev.
As BTA reported, he expects that the promises of the authorities in the country will be fulfilled Bulgarian citizens will be released without any problems, who want to come to Skopje.
In the Bulgarian delegation, which will lay flowers on Delchev's grave today at the commemoration in the "Sveti Spas" church are also the Minister of Health of Bulgaria, Asen Medzhidiev and the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Vencislav Katinov.
- There are data that Bulgarian citizens have been stopped, I don't know how many exactly. At the end of the day, I will have information and how justified the motives are, said Demerdzhiev.
He added that there is a list of Bulgarian citizens who will not be allowed to enter, but as he indicated, that list is not large.
- Complete information regarding the passing of Bulgarian citizens at the border and to what extent it corresponds to the engagements undertaken by the authorities in North Macedonia will be available at the end of the day, said Demerdzhiev.
He plans to wait for those Bulgarians who want to lay flowers on Gotse Delchev's grave, so that he can celebrate the anniversary of Delchev's birth together with them.
- Gotse Delchev is a person who belongs to history and respect for such a person cannot be expressed with violence. Respect is expressed with respect. Violence destroys bridges, and if we want to be part of Europe, we should build, not tear down, Demerdzhiev stressed and urged politicians not to be subject to any provocations.
