Debate at the Museum of the National Bank: New values set on a "hell road"

Three panel discussions were held last week within the framework of the exhibition "Rules and Values", set up in the Museum of the National Bank in honor of the 30th anniversary of monetary independence.

In the interior of the exhibition "Rules and Values" in the Museum of the National Bank, from which the discussion topic itself was inspired, three panel discussions were held on September 2 and 5, in which top experts and professionals from the field of economics took part. the arts and natural sciences.

The topics for discussion included the process of independence and the building of the modern economic system; new global economic challenges and facing them; and the creation of cultural and artistic values.

On the panel "The Measurability of Values: Interactions", which was about cultural and artistic values, speakers shared their views on the values created by artists and the role of these values in the social context as means of action and channels of communication.

Katerina Hristovska, head of the Museum of the National Bank, gave an opening address, after which, moderated by journalist Ana Zafirova, the panelists Dita Starova Qerimi, director of the National Gallery, Pece Taleski, producer at "OHO Production", Gotse Naumov, archaeologist at The museum of RSM, prof. Dr. Ilina Jakimovska from the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of PMF at UKIM and Dragana Kostadinovska, actress in MNT.

- The museum exhibition "Normalities and Values", among other things, tries to symbolically mark the social need to experience cultural values in their original, real form, despite all the audacity of the virtual revolution. That's why the exhibition is a suitable place to start a debate about the values that culture and art provide to society - pointed out Katerina Hristovska, head of the Museum of the National Bank.

In that sense, the invited panelists talked about the values they leave behind in their professions and the working conditions of their activities. Regarding the culture activity, cultural heritage and art subcategory, Dita Starova Qerimi referred to the significance of the cultural heritage of our country, taking into account that each segment of the cultural heritage from all periods of history represents a value in itself, and we are all part of the mosaic in which all the pebbles are integrated and which has been called "world cultural heritage", so that the value can be expressed by the term immeasurable.

Pece Taleski from "OHO Production" emphasized building a new audience, while actress Dragana Kostadinovska highlighted the transformative value of theater, adding that theater cannot be separated from the historical context in which a play is created, and pointed to documentary theater as an example.

Archaeologist Gotse Naumov, whose narrower specialty is prehistory, emphasized that the beginning of the creation of civilizational values is connected with the need of man to create his own home, and then curiosity led him to discover new worlds.

Anthropologist Ilina Jakimovska questioned the measurable/immeasurable concept, taking into account the pragmatic conditions of creating new values, for which the lowest value of the cost parameters of the new work is required in support contests or procurement tenders. Jakimovska concluded that we are going down a hellish road where nothing will be left behind – neither value nor worthlessness, and she herself believes that micro-communities will manage to survive, which will preserve the values of our civilization as cults.
