Am I pregnant? Seven major differences between early pregnancy and PMS
Symptoms, such as increased appetite, sensitive breasts, and irritability, are commonly associated with premenstrual syndrome (PMS), but many similar symptoms occur during early pregnancy. Hormones in both cases cause changes in the body, and how to distinguish them?
IMPLANTATION BLOOD
This is one of the first signs of pregnancy, which can often be replaced by menstruation. It occurs from the sixth to the 12th day of conception, when the embryo attaches to the wall of the uterus and encourages light bleeding, followed by cramps. As all of these symptoms indicate menstruation, attention should be paid to the amount of bleeding, which in this case is much smaller.
SENSITIVE BREAST
Although sensitive breasts are one of the most common symptoms of PMS, they are also the first symptoms of pregnancy, when the breasts become swollen and the areolas darker. In addition, breast tenderness in early pregnancy does not go away after a few days, but it becomes more common.
UNUSUAL FATIGUE
Exhaustion from normal activities, increased need for rest and frequent fatigue are some of the first signs of pregnancy. They usually appear in the first trimester, when the body gets used to the new changes.
FREQUENTLY GOING TO THE TOILET
Frequent urination, which is not accompanied by cramps and pain, as usually happens during menstruation, is one of the symptoms of pregnancy. This is due to the dilation of the uterus, which presses on the bladder. During pregnancy, the body naturally produces more fluids, more precisely there is a greater need for fluid intake, because the thirst is intensified.
NAKING AND ODOR SENSITIVITY
The intense need for certain flavors, sweet or salty, is a well-known symptom of PMS, as well as the feeling of a heavy stomach. But it is not the same as the feeling of nausea followed by vomiting, which occurs in the morning and evening, and are well known as a symptom of pregnancy.
Dizziness
Sudden dizziness and a feeling of weakness in PMS often occur as a result of severe pain that disappears when the cycle is over. But if these symptoms last for a long time and menstruation is absent, it indicates pregnancy. Weakness causes the uterus to dilate, which puts pressure on the arteries in the legs and causes the blood pressure to drop.
INCREASED TEMPERATURE
Rising body temperature and frequent heat waves are the most common symptoms of early pregnancy. Frequent heat is often accompanied by sweating and discomfort.
