Is this the most impressive image of the Sun? It was created by stitching together 90.000 photos
Andrew McCarthy and Jason Genzel managed to take an impressive photo of the Sun a year ago, which attracted a lot of attention.

First of all, it should be said that it is actually an incredible 90.000 photos that merge into one. All the photos were taken by McCarthy, thanks to a special telescope, which he adapted for high-resolution solar images.
"When you look through that telescope, you only see a small part of the Sun. And so I had to take tens of thousands of photos in rapid succession. Then Genzel helped me with the software through which I stitched all the footage together," McCarthy told the Guardian.
The sun has periods of low and high activity. McCarthy worked during a period of low activity.
