After the company Ivermectin manufacturer, Merck, announced that this preparation does not cure covid-19, the medical expert community expressed disagreement. The medical professionals contacted by "Free Press" confirmed that the drug continues to be administered in our country and has positive results.

The Alliance of Eminent American Intensive Care Professors and Physicians, based in Washington, D.C., strongly disagrees that ivermectin has no effect on the treatment and prevention of Covid 19. They sharply opposed the Merck company.

Profit always appears. It appears even more when we remember that medicines are for people and not for profit. Our sincere hope is that the abundant evidence of the effectiveness of ivermectin in the treatment of Covid 19 will encourage the company to support clinical trials to determine the appropriate timing, dosage of the drug, especially when we face the worst pandemic in the last 100 years. wrote from the American Alliance.

The Pulmonology Clinic also developed a protocol for dosing and use of Ivermectin in Macedonia. The director of this clinic, Dr. Dejan Dokic, explains for "Free Press" that observationally, from what he can see in patients, but also in his immediate environment, Ivermectin has an effect.

Ivermectin has a mechanism by which it acts. It prevents proteins from the SARS-Cov-2 virus from entering the nucleus. The core is like a safe, not everyone can enter. The cell defends itself by secreting interferons. Interferon stimulates antiviral processes in the attacked cell, leaves it, goes to neighboring cells and signals to them that there is a virus and to prepare the antiviral defense. But what does the coronavirus do and what is its unpredictability? Through an import that uses it as a channel, it enters the core and blocks the antivirus protection mechanism. But ivermectin has been shown to destroy those transport molecules and virus proteins cannot get inside! If nothing else, it does not inhibit the antiviral defense which is very important because in this way the organism will defeat the virus, there will be no severe clinical picture and it may not end in death. These are the hypotheses that Ivermectin gives to the medical world, based on all this knowledge. There was also a doctor in the US Senate who answered under oath, where he asked Ivermectin to register with the FDA because it has positive effects. In Argentina, of the 800 doctors who received Ivermectin preventively, none became ill while another group that did not receive more than 20 percent of the virus became infected, despite wearing masks. "There is medical information from doctors who indicate this and the question is why not give Ivermectin," Dr. Dokic said in a statement to Sloboden Pecat.

He adds that his experience so far, observationally shows that there is improvement in those who drank ivermectin after contact with an infected person.

- I gave it to my son when he was diagnosed and he did not have a fever, but just lost his taste and smell. I also got drunk and so far I have not received Covid 19. Observationally, I think it has an effect, explains Dr. Dokic.

The president of the association of family doctors, Dr. Lilija Cholakova-Dervishova, also told us that she prescribes Ivermectin for prevention and in patients who have symptoms of Covid 19.

- My experience is positive. The patients are good and the tests they do the next time they take the medicine are negative. I have patients who are receiving home treatment and receiving it, I also have patients who took it preventively after contact with an infected person. No choking, no side effects, points out the doctor.

We asked about experiences from the use of this drug and the Clinic for Infectious Diseases in Skopje, where they told us that they do not use Ivermectin and it is not in their treatment protocols.

Last month, under public pressure, ivermectin came to Macedonia. The expert commission formed by the Minister of Health prepared a positive opinion on this medicine. It is a drug used for many viral, parasitic and bacterial diseases. The list is long, and it includes Ebola, Zika virus and many other parasites.
