Citizens should be careful when moving to locations in the mountainous hiking zones of Vodno where they may encounter wild boars. During a possible meeting with wild boars, citizens should be calm, not to attack them in order not to provoke them, because during their defensive reaction they may injure them, Ilija Bojarovski from the Crisis Management Center said today.

If until now there was only a report of contact with wild boars in the high forest areas, now, he clarified, they appear in Skopje as well, as is the case with the settlement of Pržino, and other settlements on the border with nature in Skopje.

- This is due to the fact that a large number of fruit trees ripen in the mountains and in the settlement, and in search of food, the wild game descends into the settlements as well. People who walk their pets should avoid the edge of the Przyno neighborhood, where the forest begins, because the instincts of dogs and wild boars cannot be predicted, and should not do so in the late evening and early morning hours. In the last several years, the risk of African plague among wild boars has increased, and it is a plus to warn about their increasing number in Vodno, because there is no specialized institution to deal with this or a similar phenomenon, Bojarovski said.

He pointed out that the CMC addressed a request to assume legal powers and solutions to the State Parks and Greenery Skopje, which manages and manages the Vodno Forest Park, the Forestry and Hunting Inspectorate, an expert body for hunting, the Food and Veterinary Agency as a coordinator for handling with the African forest, for which, as he emphasized, they have information that gives a reward of 250 denars for a reported dead wild boar, which means that if citizens notice a dead wild boar on this move, they should report it.

- The Ministries of Environment and Spatial Planning, Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Interior Affairs and the Mayor of the City of Skopje Danela Arsovska could use their resources to get involved in dealing with the outbreak, such as the Zoo in Skopje, several associations for protection of animals, etc. The mayor of the municipality of Kisela Voda, Orce Gjorgjievski, was also informed, since Pržino is in the territory of that municipality. The wild boar moves at night, and rests during the day in the thickets that we have on the stretch from Vodno, above Pržino, then Sredno Vodno all the way to Nerezi. As long as there is water and food, it can travel up to 70 kilometers a day and return to its nest. CMC, through the single emergency number 112, is in constant communication with citizens and seriously treats reports of danger to life and property, Bojarovski added.
