The black series continues, Kiel inflicted the third defeat in a row on Vardar in the Champions League
The handball players of Vardar continued the black series in the Champions League and suffered the third defeat in a row, the second at home. Vardar this time lost to the team of Kiel with 26:29 in the sixth round in Group A in the Champions League.
Although there were no three key players in the German team, Sagossen, Vincek and Weinhold, the large number of technical errors in the attack contributed to the third defeat in a row for Vardar after achieving two wins and one draw in the first three rounds.
The match started great for Martin Tomovski who defended Ekberg's shot from seven meters, and then in the first five minutes he defended three more shots of the Kiel handball players.
His defenses were used by the wings Dibirov and Georgievski who scored three goals for a lead of 3: 1. Excellent on the goal of Vardar was Martin Tomovski who in the first half had 12 saves, one of which was a penalty, while in the attack Timur Dibirov scored seven goals.
The second half started with a goal by Duvnjak, but Joel Morales returned with his first goal of the match, but then followed two goals by Kiel through Reinkind and Duvnjak with which the German team reduced to 14:13.
Olivier Gjokas in 35 minutes leads Vardar to a two-goal advantage (15:13), in the guests they return via Zarabec.
Vardar 37 minutes again makes a three goal advantage thanks to the goals of Stoilov and Olivier Gjokas (18:15). Kiel's response was a series of five goals with which they took the lead with 18:20 in 42 minutes.
"Red and Black" in the next tried to catch the score, coach Veselin Vujovic excelled in attack to play seven to six, but misses in the attack were punished by the handball players of Kiel who took the lead with three goals difference (20:23), and in the 50th minute, the German team took the lead with 21:25 after the goal of Niklas Edberg.
Vardar did not give up and in the 55th minute with Dibirov's goal from seven meters reduced to 24:26, while on the field they had two more players due to the exclusions of Damke and Horak. The German team even in those moments managed to score a goal through Domagoj Duvnjak for 24:27. Vardar expressly reduced through Kuduz, but Ekberg defeated Ristovski from seven meters for a lead of 25:28.
Timur Dibirov with nine goals was the most accurate in the ranks of Vardar, and Martin Tomovski had 14 saves. On the opposite side, Domagoj Duvnjak scored seven goals, and Niklas Edberg gave six, while Landin had 11 saves.
The next match, Vardar will play on November 18 when it will host Pik Szeged.
