Montenegro has imposed sanctions on three Russian companies
Montenegro backs European sanctions against three Russian companies, which, according to a statement from Council of the EU, are included in oil deals in Syria and serve for assisting the operations of the Wagner group, which is said to be a Russian mercenary army, said RTCG.
Except for three companies, Montenegro introduced sanctions for both Russian citizens who are claimed to be in the top management of the Wagner Group.
The announcement of Montenegro's decision was posted by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy on the EU Council website.
Under the sanctions are Velada LLC, Mercury LLC and Evro Polis LLC and Andrej Troshev and Andrej Bogatov.
These measures, as it is pointed out, are resorted to because of the involvement of these people in the events in Syria.
Montenegro recently backed another package of European sanctions against the Wagner Group over allegations of human rights abuses in some African and Asian countries, as well as in eastern Ukraine.
