The man who accused Biden of "destroying America" was appointed by Netanyahu as media adviser
The Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu appointed him as his media adviser Gilad Zwick, who spread conspiracy theories about the 2020 US election theft and accused US President Joe Biden of "destroying America".
Zwick, who previously worked for conservative Israeli TV Channel 14 and the newspaper Israel Hayom (Israel Today), criticized Biden and made false claims about that election, Haaretz reports today.
Zwick then labeled Biden a "supreme leader" on Twitter, indirectly comparing him to the leaders of North Korea and Iran.
"The media is doing everything to cover up that Biden is incompetent, but the Chinese, Russians and Iranians are not stupid and understand very well that no one is in charge in Washington," Netanyahu's new media adviser wrote last July.
After Biden won the presidential election, Zwick promoted Donald Trump's claims of election fraud.
The new adviser has been appointed at a time when ties between Israel and its closest US ally have been strained by the Israeli government's contentious plan to reform the judiciary and ultranationalists within it, which makes policy decisions on Palestinians and other sensitive issues.
Biden has publicly expressed concern over the Netanyahu government's plan to reform the justice system, which has sparked mass protests in Israel.
