By the end of the transfer window, Chelsea plans to spend as much as 200 million euros for three reinforcements
The English Premier League team Chelsea, which together with Barcelona are the most active teams in the summer transfer window, plans to spend another 200 million euros for three reinforcements that, if brought in, will be one of the most serious competitors for winning trophies in the Champions League and the Premier League.
Chelsea, which this summer received a new owner in an American consortium led by billionaire Todd Bolly, has already spent 150 million to hire Kalidou Koulibaly, Marc Cucurella and Raheem Sterling, and prepared another 200 million for Frankie de Jong, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Wesley Fofana. Chelsea plans to spend 100 million euros on the Barcelona duo, and they want to spend the same amount on the Leicester defender.
Frankie de Jong does not intend to leave Barcelona for the time being, not for sporting reasons but because he wants to be paid the 17 million euros that the Catalan team owes him.
The Dutchman is furious with Barcelona's management led by president Joan Laporta who are trying to get rid of him in order to clean up the financial books and register the signings he brought in this summer.
But Chelsea is not giving up on De Jong, owner Boley and manager Thomas Tuchel talked to the player's agent and convinced him that he will play a key role in the team's game. For him, the "blues" are ready to set aside 85 million euros and give him the salary he has in Barcelona.
In Chelsea, they believe that 15 million euros will be enough to convince Laporta to sell Aubameyang and with that they would solve the issue of a striker after they released Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku this summer. The sale of De Jong and Aubameyang will solve Barcelona's problems with La Liga's financial fair play, and therefore it is expected that the transfers will be completed by the end of the transfer window.
Leicester also rejected Chelsea's second offer for defender Wesley Fofana of 90 million euros, but the "blues" are ready to "raise" the offer for an additional 10 million and complete the defense.
